The Eulogy of Diagnosis
Jean Two Hawks

Cry not for me
I am a shadow cast
By borrowed daylight
From springtime past

Forget not of me
I am your blood
whose heavy heart
is filled with love
– Too much, It floods!

Like the tears upon your cheeks
Fret not for old bones that creak
Or the weary weathered flesh I keep
Nor for my voice that’s growing weak

I flourish in the air between your fingertips
Stronger with the certainty of each stroke
Upon the piano keys black & white
The memories linger sharp but unspoke

– Like misplayed notes

Forget now my face
As you saw it last – vacant
Photos remain to remind you
Of my spirit before it was shaken

Hold me close to you
In moments when you reap my teachings
Catch the tears as they fall
Unless your happiness must rust with weeping
– I am not as my health, receding

We Heart It

Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
