5 Must-Have Apps Every College Student Needs

"What if I told you that there's an app for that?"

With an endless stream of technology out there these days, especially for us Cal students and our close proximity to San Francisco and Silicon Valley, it can be hard to tell which new apps are frivolous and which apps are actually going to make your life easier! Lucky for you, this process has been streamlined!

Boxed

Going to Big Box stores can be overwhelming. You can never find anything you need, because there is SO much stuff, along with families of screaming kids and people literally pushing you out of the way for the best deals. On top of that, parking is almost always a nightmare, if you are one of those lucky college students with a car. Boxed delivered these deals straight to your door so that you can buy in bulk without the hassle. The best part is, there is no membership fee like there is with Costco, Sam's Club, and other similar places. Big Box-sized supplies of Coffee and Coconut Water for a fraction of the price? Sign me up, please.

Jukely

This one is for all the concert and music junkies out there. If you like to go to concerts frequently, the cost can add up! Luckily, Jukely, available in many major US cities, including San Francisco, gives you access to unlimited concerts each month for just $25.00! If you aren't sure if this is for you, they offer a 14 day free trial! If you don't want to go alone, or think this would be great for date nights, you can upgrade to having a plus one for twenty more dollars. This is definitely something you are going to want to take advantage of, and something you'll actually use, instead of just another icon on your phone screen.

Tilt

Tilt is blowing up across college campuses to solve an age old problem. You are buying tickets for you and your friends to fly to Vegas, or trying to score tickets to the hottest music festival in a timely matter, or even looking to divide up the bar tab in a neat fashion. But who's card to we put it on? Do you risk the enormous charge on your credit card and face the wrath of your parents in the hopes that they might pay you back?

Tilt's website and app create an easy platform to solve the issue of money pooling. You can set an exact amount of money you need from each person, or set a random amount. When the Tilt event via the app or site reaches the goal, it can be deposited directly into your bank account! You also have the option of selling something, which is ideal for Greek Organizations to sell their apparel, since no card gets charged unless you make it to the order minimum. It's also a great platform for collecting Fraternity and Sorority Dues or other campus club dues. They also have one of the best campus ambassador programs with a lot of perks, like Apple TVs and Patagonia gear! If philanthropic endeavors are more your scene, you can create a Tilt to donate directly to a 501c3. Collect money for your next event the simple way with Tilt!

Knock Knock

Remember when you were a freshman in the dorms, and you wanted to ask people for their numbers, like the most attractive person on your floor or the only person you know in one of your classes who you needed notes from? Knock Knock is aiming to take the awkwardness out of these encounters. With Bluetooth technology, you can "knock" on anyone who is nearby and get their contact info, like their number or their social media handles, if they've enabled them on the app. Helping the socially awkward since 2015, yo! (Not to be confused with the app Yo.)

All of these apps are available in the App Store, and are some on Google Play!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

Happy Birthday Cake

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
