Shortly, one of two most unfavorable candidates in the history of America will become its president. The election will soon come to a close, ending over one and a half years of constant political drama.
Hillary Clinton seemed invincible after her stellar performance in the presidential debates compared to Trump's lack of preparation. Her lead was strengthened by the leak of the Access Hollywood tape that revealed Trump's words about groping women and ,depending on certain points of view, sexually assaulting women. She was leading in the polls of all the Democratic stronghold states as well as many key swing states.
However, that all changed when the FBI, investigating disgraced congressman Anthony Weiner's laptop for evidence of his recent sexting scandal, found more emails that Hillary Clinton hadn't given to the FBI during her investigations earlier in the year. The emails were on the laptop because Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, was a trusted Clinton surrogate who used the laptop to converse with Clinton many times. Trump capitalized on the new investigation and it boosted his poll numbers and gave him a narrative he could pull votes off of as his campaign headed in the final days of the election.
Clinton still seems to have the upper hand in some key swing states but Trump has also taken over some swing states as well. Both candidates are in a dead heat in many polls, leaving the future for America uncertain.
