The End Of The Semester Told In Finding Dory GIFs

I love Disney movies, but I always seem to jump on the bandwagon too late. I did not watch Frozen until two years after it was released in theaters, and I finally watched Finding Dory this past weekend as a stress reliever from doing school work. I am little obsessed with it, rightfully so, so please enjoy my take on trying to explain the last few weeks of the semester in Finding Dory GIFs.

Coming back from break like...

When you come back from Thanksgiving Break and you think things are going fine but you actually have a million things to do. The end of the semester hits you like a brick wall that you did not see coming.

Waking up early.

Now, you would think that waking up early would get easier because you have been doing it for about 13 weeks. NOPE. It is not easier. It is a huge struggle and I cringe when my alarm goes off every morning.

Cramming for the final.

What did I even learn this semester? The final is cumulative? It is not multiple choice? It is on the first day of finals week? The stuff we learned today is fair game for the final? I have to cram for these tests while also completing assignments for all my other classes. Sure, I guess that's possible. NOT.

Avoiding sickness at all costs.

Do not get sick during finals week. I repeat, DO NOT GET SICK. This is one of the worst things that can happen and you should try to avoid it. Stress makes you more immune to sickness so try your best to avoid it. Take your vitamins and wash your hands.

Professors that do not give finals.

Professors who do not give finals are the real MVP. They understand that finals are so stressful and cramming a bunch of material that we end up forgetting the second after the final is not worth it.

Drinking too much coffee.

When you seriously consider taking the entire pot of coffee to class in order to make sure you stay awake. Coffee is essential to survive the last few weeks of the semester. It will be your savior.

When you walk out of the exam and remember the correct answer.

It is the worst feeling not remembering the answer to a question while you have the test in front of you but as soon as you hand in your test, you remember it.

When you just have to power through.

When you realize that the only way to survive the semester is to do your best to power through... or in the words of Dory, just keep swimming.

The end of the semester is tough, but just keep swimming and you will survive, even if you forget a few things along the way.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
