The end of the semester approaches so quickly. Piles of work, lack of sleep and the need to go home becomes way too real within these last few weeks. Luckily, we're not alone. The Grinch completely understands how we feel when it comes to:
Finals, final papers and finally checked out.
The end of the semester is so close… and yet so far away. Professors clearly don’t remember that we are taking other classes aside from their own. Unlike you professor, I don’t think it’s really all that funny that you assigned a final paper, project and exam due all on the same day.
Exhaustion.
Never before have you felt so tired and unmotivated. These seemingly never-ending weeks have been jammed-pack with so much work that you’ve maybe gotten a total of 10 hours of sleep within the span of three days.
Going out.
You feel like a hermit after being trapped in the library doing homework but you suddenly realize it’s now the weekend and you haven’t seen anyone aside from the librarians in two days…
Finally doing laundry.
You honestly can’t remember the last time you had clean clothes to wear. You may or may not have been relying on the same sweatshirt and leggings for the past three days and nothing compares to the feeling of fresh clothes right out of the dryer.
Losing your cool.
Too much homework… not enough sleep… mAlfUncTiOn
That one kid.
Every class has that one kid who really just doesn’t know when to stop talking. For the first month or two you think you can handle the unnecessary comments but now you have no chill and can’t seem to hold back your tongue any longer.
Missing your friends.
As much as you’ll miss your school fam, you can’t help but count down the days until you see your friends from home. You just miss them so much you don’t know what to do with yourself anymore.
Procrastinating is your #1 skill.
You truly can't get yourself to focus for more than 10 minutes at a time so you have found many new ways to put off all the assignments you still have yet to do.
Your body aches for real food.
The “chicken” served at the dining hall just doesn’t seem to cut it anymore. You spend 15 minutes trying to find some half-decent food but nothing looks even slightly appetizing.
Saying bye to your roommate.
You may have one roommate or you may have four but no matter how many of you there are, the goodbyes aren’t any easier. You know you’ll be seeing each other soon and that you’re going to keep in touch while on break, but you can’t help but let them know how much you’ll miss them.
Going home on break.
Any person you see, whether it’s your parents, a teacher from grade school or a family-friend, you know it’s in your best interest to run and hide before they begin asking you every question under the sun. Telling your parents and family is one thing, but having to answer the same five questions to everyone that you have ever known gets pretty old after a while.
