No, but, for real. The end of the semester and the end of this dreaded year of 2016 is quickly approaching us. I was dumbfounded when I realized Halloween is already three weeks in the rear-view and Thanksgiving is Thursday. That means finals are right around the corner for me, too. My first is on the first of December, and then that horrible week of testing hell will be done for me on the sixth. After that it's just shy of three weeks and I'm sitting around a Christmas tree with my extended family. Where has the time gone?
I can now say for sure: time does fly when you're having a good time. Many of my family and friends (and especially my mom and dad) can tell you I've been a different person the last few months. I feel great, I'm doing great in school, and all the things in my life that need to be coming together are, indeed, coming together. Not even our presidential election could bring me down, and it didn't. Even so, I know there's always something that could happen that would affect how my life is rolling. There's a major lesson in there somewhere, folks. Keep scanning through my ramblings until I can figure out where my train of thought was heading.
The future is uncertain. One of the only certain things we can consider is that the year is quickly drawing to a close. That means we have to finish strong or work to finish on a somewhat strong foundation. I'm not saying it's all been willy-nilly fan-freakin'-tastic for everyone in the world today. The important thing to keep in mind and keep pushing for is a positive future. If you're having a great year, finish it on a great note. Study for all of your finals. Don't slack off until your Christmas vacation from work. Do the best at all that you are doing. Don't leave it halfway in the mud.
Even if the year hasn't been going good for you, we're approaching the most joyous time of the year. Look past the crippling grade depression you may have, ignore the negative personalities in your life (or remove them all together), and enjoy what we have left. You don't need fancy presents or tons of calorie-oozing foods to improve your life in the next forty-one days. Enjoy the people in your life. Take some you time to combat what life is slinging at you. Live your life to the happiest of your potential. But, for all intents and purposes, don't give up now that the end is near.
