On March 3, 2017, one of the best albums of the year was released. Ed Sheeran blessed us all with an amazing new album, but none of us were prepared for what it was going to hold. During this album, all sixteen songs provide us with different experiences through deep emotions. This album is an emotional roller coaster, and here is just an idea of what each song (in order) will do to your heart.

1. Eraser

This song is just a nice one to start off with. It sounds the most like a typical Ed song. At this point in the album, we are ready to take on the experience and we are probably dancing along.

2. Castle on the Hill

This song is perfect for the car. There isn't much about it to call it a favorite, but it also does not suck. All in all, it is just nice to listen to. We are still able to dance along happily at this point in the album.

3. Dive

This is the first song on the album that tries to tug at your heart strings. This is simply a beautiful and relatable song and it is very easy to sing a long with. We are starting to dance a little slower. Luckily, this song is not super depressing. But if it is not already, it will be on the radio soon, and it's going to get old very quickly. So for now, just enjoy it.

4. Shape of You

I think we all already know this song since it has been on the radio non-stop for the past two months. We might dance and sing a long the first couple of times we listen to it on the album, but most of the time it is just a "skip." No major emotions being expressed through this one.

5. Perfect

This is the song we are all hoping does not become super popular on the radio, because it is so cute. However, it most likely will because it is the new and improved, "Thinking Out Loud." This song will make you miss your love, or wish that you had a significant other. There most likely won't be tears listening to it, but you will tell yourself how adorable it is. Truly the perfect wedding dance song.

6. Galway Girl

Hands down, this is the most intriguing song on the album. If this song does not make you want to smile and dance, I do not know what will. At this point in the album, our mood is boosted with this fun and exciting jam.

7. Happier

This song will force us to feel terrible for Ed and just want to hug him. It is beautifully written and will shut everybody in the car up by its powerful lyrics and instrumentals. At this point, we are thinking about the lyrics, possibly relating them to a certain past experience, and falling in the feels a little extra.

8. New Man

Definitely one of the best. It is super catchy and will make you want to dance and sing a long even when you do not know the words. It is a nice song to hear in between two slow songs. We are able to be happy and pumped up again for 3 minutes and 28 seconds, so that is exciting

9. Hearts Don't Break Around Here

This song is cute and the lyrics are well-written. It is easy to listen to, and can put a smile on your face despite how it sounds like it should be sad. When discussing this album with others, you most likely will not mention this song in the conversation, because it is easy to forget. At this point listening to the album, we are content and ready for more.

10. What Do I Know?

This song is very motivational and exciting to hear. We are suddenly dancing again, and feeling very hopeful for a positive change in the world! Ed Sheeran for president? Yes please.

11. How Would You Feel (Paean)

The lyrics in this one are pretty repetitive, but it's another cute and sentimental song. We are most likely falling back in our feels at this point, just because of his amazing voice and the powerful instrumentals in this one.

12. Supermarket Flowers

If you have a heart of any kind, this song will get you crying. if you are not crying yet, look up the lyrics or listen to them intensely and feel your heart break entirely. It will make you cry even more knowing that this song was written for Ed's grandmother who passed away. Be careful, guys. This is one of the saddest songs of all time, yet you will want to keep listening because it is truly beautiful. So at this point in the album, we are just ready to dance again.

13. Barcelona

Honestly, when this song comes on, we are all relieved that it's not depressing. Even though we are still thinking about his grandmother, Ed makes us feel like we are traveling to Barcelona right now. When listening to this song during this album, it will be fun and catchy, and we will feel a little better.

14. Bibia Be Ye Ye

Apparently this song means, "everything will be alright." This is another catchy song with a fun beat. We are staring to finally feel re-energized and are most likely dancing again.

15. Nancy Mulligan

This song is definitely in the top 3 best from the album. From the second this starts playing, you'll be ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Seriously, you'll want to learn the Irish jig. This is a very easy song to get addicted to, and the words will stick in your head through the entire day. (Not even kidding). So what are our emotions doing during listening to this gem? We are happy and ready to celebrate life! (Oh and his grandmother is alive during this song so that helps).

16. Save Myself

Ed's thought process: "OK so how should we end the album? Oh I have an idea, let's just break the listener's heart on more time!" Seriously, guys. This song is incredibly depressing. But it provides a good message, and makes us want to sing along with it just because we want to feel as powerful as him. We will feel sad again, but our emotions will be evened out between the amount of sad, happy, and in between songs provided.

Now do what's best for you at this very moment, and listen to this fantastic album. I promise it is one you won't forget. You will have a rollercoaster of emotions, but that's what good music does.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life.
