Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 85 years, you know that this past Tuesday was the Presidential Election. Ever since that Tuesday, there have been a lot of opinions flying around. There have been mean words, hateful acts, and just an overall disgusting reaction to the outcome of the election. Personally, I'm not a fan of the results, but I've tried to stay away from being blatantly rude to another person. There have also been some kind words and loving acts. I've seen people come together, and people completely rip apart. No matter what your views are, I've always said that we must be kind and respect one another. That is the only way anything can be accomplished. That is the only way we can heal. And what better way to talk about kindness and respect than everyone's favorite President, Kid President?!
Here's the election as told by Kid President:
1. Millennials voting for the first time.
2. Millennials (me specifically) thinking that Hillary had the election in the bag.
3. Not being able to focus all day because all you could think about is the fate of America.
4. When the polls started to close and the numbers started coming in.
5. When things started getting crazy, so you stress ate.
6. When Hillary lost.
7. When people started being mean to each other and you just want everyone to get along.
8. After you got over the shock and you realized that you have to be the change in the world.
9. Thinking about what you can do to make things better for everyone around you.
10. Wanting Obama to be President forever.
All jokes aside, we all need a little pep talk.
Things are crazy right now, and we really need to keep our heads on straight. Remember that even though everyone is different, but we're all still people. Show compassion, be kind, and love each other. And lastly, remember that there are plenty of good people still left in this world, even if you can't see them. Everything will be okay. We just have to work together.
All my love,
Shan
