There is nothing worse than getting stuck in traffic, especially when going through a city. The city of Boston, Massachusetts is no exception. There are nearly 800,000 people living in Suffolk County, let alone the number of people who commute to and from work in Boston each day. A word of advice, before even considering driving through Boston in rush hour, make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into.
Here are some dos and don'ts on the terrors of Boston traffic:
Do: Get a good playlist going. You’re going to be sitting a while.
Don't: Even bother turning on the radio. Seriously, it will only make you angrier with its constant replaying of the exact same songs …
Do: Be sure to go to the bathroom before you leave because once you leave, there is absolutely no turning back.
Don't: Try to find an alternate route, it’s not going to happen. Everywhere you turn, there is going to be traffic.
Do: Pay attention to the roads because the people driving these days ... I mean really, how on earth did they pass their driving test?
Do: Learn how to use a blinker. It does, surprisingly, have a purpose.
Don’t: Even bother switching lanes, it's just a wasted effort that causes more traffic.
Don't: Be that jerk driving in the breakdown lane.
Do: Keep your hand on the horn, you may need to use it a few times.
Don't: Get in the HOV lane without two or more persons ... You are not going to get away with it.
Do: Make sure you have gas because running out of gas in the middle of the highway full of traffic is the last thing everyone needs.
Don't: Have road rage. I know, this is a difficult one.
Don't: Get excited when you think you've made it out ... You haven't.
Good Luck!! (You're going to need it!)
