Allow me to being by very frankly stating that I am in no way a Trump supporter. From the moment he announced his candidacy, he’s been a runaway freight train with a big mouth and an itchy trigger finger. Recently, however, that freight train seems to be losing some of its momentum, falling behind Hillary by as many as fifteen points. The man has just taken a plain, ol’ fashioned beating, and it’s almost enough to make you feel sorry for him. My pity for him is stifled by the fact that he has no one to blame but his own lack of self-control.
Donald Trump’s recent loss of support can be attributed to any number of the mistakes he’s made in recent weeks. He criticized Ghazala Kahn for not speaking during hers and her husband’s speech about their son, a Muslim American war hero who died overseas fighting for his country, claiming that she didn’t speak because she wasn’t allowed to. He forewarned his supporters that the election was going to be rigged. He covertly encouraged 2nd Amendment supporters to take action against Hillary Clinton to prevent her from abolishing the right to bear arms. He “sarcastically” stated that President Obama is the founder of ISIS, and that Hillary Clinton is the co-founder. These are just a few possibilities for his decline.
It would seem as though Trump’s actions are finally starting to make Americans uneasy. People are realizing that someone with his temperament and disrespectful attitude shouldn’t be allowed access to nuclear arms. He shouldn’t be in charge of armies. He shouldn’t be responsible for a single life, American or otherwise, and all we can do is hope that Hillary continues to gain ground. There’s an actual possibility of Donald Trump losing – keep paying attention. Keep reading between the lines. Maybe he’ll lose. Maybe everything will be OK.
All Donald Trump has to do is keep talking, keep opening his mouth, and hopefully, he’ll tank his own election.
