In just about a one week, we will have a new leader of the free world, the next President of the United States of America. Today our country is divided on so many issues: immigration, border security, how to add new jobs and escalating healthcare costs, making this election one of the most important elections in our nation’s history.
The two candidates, and many American’s hold polar opposite opinions on the future direction our country should take to solve these problems. Our political environment is made more complicated by the extreme differences in points of view taken by each side making it almost impossible to reach any compromise.
In the past elections, people voted and would accept the results even if their candidate was not elected. But because today our country is so split, the supporters of the losing candidate are likely to not accept the results and further our country’s divided social structure.
I encourage those who can vote to do so and participate in this historical election and play a constructive part in the changes that are taking place within our American society.
