Shimmering lights overhead, the bustle of people on the sidewalk, and the quiet fall of the horse's hooves upon the pavement.

Planning the ideal, romantic date can be difficult, yet have faith, there are many options out there! Here are a few ideas to keep in mind:

Dinner: Both sides of the party can have a say as each person has different taste buds. One might enjoy sushi, while the other enjoys a nice, rare steak. The step to success in this area is first choosing the genre of food. From there, you and your partner can discuss how nice you would like to make the evening. For instance, let's take burgers as the menu for the night: McDonald's would be quick and low scale, while Red Robin would be the casual medium, or Ted's Montana Grill for a nicer, more sophisticated evening.

After Dinner: When planning the activity after dinner, a walk through downtown lit by Christmas lights, ice skating with romantic music playing the background, or a carriage ride tour of the city would be a few ideas to add something to the date. Each option offers a different mood. Walking can offer quick stops in shops along the way. Ice skating is on the more active side of the date so if doing something active while spending time together, this is a great option. Now if you want to create the ultimate experience, a horse-drawn carriage ride through a city while wrapped in a blanket, then choose an option that offers closeness and intimacy like this. Other options include dancing, going for a night drive, going to a nice bar, or maybe a movie to relax. It all depends on the likes and interests of the one you're taking on a date and your own desires for the date.

Now, this only covers a dinner and activity date, but the same ideas apply for other occasions and times of day. Pick the genre of food, decide how nice you are desiring to create the date to be, and pick an activity that works with both of you and the tone you trying to set for the evening. Anytime you're planning a date, it is healthy to have a mindset of combining interests and likes. A good date that appeases both sides is set for success.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
