Just based on my short time in college, I've noticed there is usually a certain outfit or "dress code" that students abide by depending on their mood, the activity they're taking part in, or their state of wellbeing the morning after. Here are a few common outfits college students wear:
1. The "I just really can't try today" outfit
This outfit is usually composed of your favorite, baggiest pair of sweatpants, a big t-shirt and no make up. No amount of fixing yourself is going to make you look better so might as well just stay in pajamas. At this point, you don't really care who sees you looking like this because you looked fantastic last night.
2. The "I'm really fit and live at the gym and eat only salads and acai bowls" outfit
A popular choice for girls on campus, this dress code consists of Lululemon leggings, an athletic or frat tank and Nike running shoes. Some wear this just because it's comfortable, and some wear it to give off the impression that they exercise. It's the perfect outfit to wear so you can head straight to the gym from class and save time in your day.
3. The "going out in Midtown" outfit
Whether it's a Wednesday or a Friday, you're decked out in a cute outfit ready to go. When it's warm (so most of the time) it's a skirt or shorts, when it drops below 70 degrees, jeans, a crop top or nice tank top and heels. Your shirt will probably end up with some kind of stain on it--ALWAYS red when you're wearing white--and your heels will be covered in who knows what. No one quite knows what it is, but your black shoes will be gray when you leave.
4. The "it's game day" outfit
Sadly, with football season coming to an end, this dress code will soon not be seen regularly but it's definitely a crowd favorite. For some it means a dress and cowboy boots, for others it's a bleached crop top and jean shorts, but no matter what everyone loves to show their school spirit through what they wear on game day. At UF, if you're not wearing orange and blue on game day, it's practically a crime.
