Is there a way to return from the void?

Music. Poetry. Dance. Art and the human imagination. Things that seem so simple but are so infinitely difficult to explain. Art formed by imperfect human hands, able to break or make a person's soul. Only inspiration and motivation can bring about such things. The sad experiences. The happy ones. Human empathy allows for us to experience these. Thus letting us express those emotions through what we know as art.

However, there is a blankness. A cold empty space that arises from a lack of inspiration. The drive and the desire to express who you are and what you're feeling. A void that swallows creative and imaginative thought. It's more than a simple case of writer's block or the frustration at not being able to find the right note to finish off a song. Nor is it forgetting a line or stumbling over words in a speech. It's white. Blank. Devoid of emotions. Neither happy or sad. A medium in which no person wants to find themselves in. This void can appear for a number of different reasons. An overload of emotions that tire your brain and soul out. A single experience that just makes things seem unimportant. Whatever it may be, the emptiness that you wander through is cold.

Is there a way to return from the void? The pit you had found yourself floating about in. Could there be a way to turn a jaded and uninterested mind back to one filled with both pain and immense joy? There is and it's rather simple. Look to the sky. Then look back down to the Earth. Gaze around you and see the true nature of the beauty around you. As we witness awful things, we tend to forget that there is good in this world. Beauty. As well as pain. Distress as well as peace.

The birds that stick to their formations with born instinct. The smog in the air that causes them to fly lower. The wind that rustles the trees lightly and the storm that soon causes the trees to bend. The celebratory cheers of coworkers in a shadily-lit bar and the cries of a teenager on the street across them. Feel the rain, the sun, the tears, and the smiles. Let them resonate within you.

The death of inspiration is a rather improbable thought. For inspiration is all around you, in the very air you breathe. Resurrect your drive and your desires, the pains you and many other have felt. Create a world of your own or reveal secrets of the one that we live in.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
