The Day That Everything Changed
Katie O'Malley

Life can change in an instant.

We never know what is going to happen in the 24-hour window that each day holds. God forbid, you could get into a car accident. There could be a huge earthquake that causes immense damage. A family member could suddenly pass. The stock market could crash. Your parents could decide to get divorced, and you never even saw it coming. There are limitless life altering events that have the potential to occur in each day.

Now you're probably thinking: yes, these are all horrible things that can happen, where is she going with this? Well firstly, it is important to acknowledge how fragile life is, and how thankful we should be for the blessings we have, even all the little things. However, I also want to acknowledge the biggest life change this world has ever seen.

It happened many years ago when a little baby was born. Since there was no room in the inns, He was lain in a manger in the city of David. Shepherds and Wisemen traveled from afar to see and worship Him. Even angels came down to sing to Him. His birth changed not only the lives of those from His time, but it continues to change our lives today.

Every year on His birthday, masses gather in churches to sing and worship Him even more. Why? Because when He was born everything changed. An enslaved people lost their shackles as a vulnerable baby graced the earth and the power of sin would be broken forever. Ever since that day, we are able to live freely and we know that there is a God who loves us so dearly that He would become flesh, walk the earth, and then die so that we could live with Him for eternity.

So yes, life can change in the blink of an eye. But no matter what happens, we are saved. Because years ago, every life was changed with the birth of Jesus.

Happy Birthday, JC!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
