College is already tough enough, and with midterm exams, papers, and final projects already looming over all of our shoulders, we are all bound to pull a few all-nighters. While staying up all night studying is rough, staying awake and focused the next day is just as difficult. In fact, it's more than just a little hard. After the actual studying, writing, or gluing, we all find ourselves tired, angry, and craving nothing but coffee and sleep. With the day in full swing, there are a few thoughts that have crossed all of our minds after staying up all night.

1. Wow, daylight already?

2. I should probably wake up to watch the sunrise more often. *glances at time* Never mind.

3. Maybe I should stop procrastinating so much and actually get my work done.

4. Nope, that’s never going to happen.

5. I should probably get some more coffee.

6. Why do I need to take this class? It has nothing to do with my major.

7. I don’t even know what I’m doing.

8. Alright, that’s it, I’m done.

9. Should I go to my first class today? Yes. Will I? Of course not.

10. If I take a nap now, I'll get one hour of sleep.

11. Should probably check Twitter since I haven't in the past 12 hours.

12. *40 minutes later* There's no way I was on Twitter that long.

13. I should probably dress somewhat decently. Nah… I’m wearing sweatpants.

14. I really need some coffee.

15. Well, better go fail this exam. *Googles "jobs that don't require a degree"*

16. Why does everyone walk as slowly as they possibly can? MOVE.

17. Is it possible to fall asleep while walking? Because I think I just did.

18. Definitely not pulling an all-nighter ever again.

19. Did I just fall asleep on my desk?

20. Yes, yes I did.

21. Please tell me I didn't snore.

22. I know nothing on this exam. Like, seriously, when did we learn this?

23. Am I in the right class? This does not look like anything I've seen before.

24. Last night was definitely not worth it.

25. Well, 'D’s get degrees.

26. Oh thank goodness it’s over.

27. Better stop at Starbucks.

28. Should I take a nap? Yep, it's happening.

29. Wait, I have another class.

30. Four cups of coffee today, and counting.

31. I'm so caffeinated I can see sounds.

32. When was the last time I ate?

33. Please let us out early, please let us out early.

34. Of course you’re not going to let us out early.

35. Did my professor just see me doze off?

36. Will this class ever end?

37. Forget it, I'm leaving.

38. Well, it's too late for a nap, so I might as well just go to sleep early.

39. Oh, wait, I have an essay due tomorrow.

40. Nope, not going to do it. I'm going to sleep.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.

1. Finals are weeks away, I’m sure I’ll be ready for them when they come.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!
