1. Surprise

Considering the predictions of official polls and opinions of the majority of America, it was nothing less than a shock when the results rolled in and Trump had come out victorious. Surprise was the appropriate initial feeling as Hillary Clinton called to concede.

2. Denial

The feeling of rejecting what has actually happened seems to have been a popular consensus, particularly right after the election. Refusing to acknowledge that Hillary had been defeated was and continues to be a tough pill for many to swallow.

3. Anger

How exactly could this have happened? How could we have chosen a man who openly stands for oppression and discrimination? Such questions were the driving ones in the aftermath of denial and beginning of realizing what had just happened in our country.

4. Acceptance

In the face of acknowledging that there is nothing to be done about the outcome, it is most advantageous to recognize Trump as the new President and move on in the most productive way possible.

5. Hope

Ultimately wishing the best for our country is the primary concern, and so moving forward with a positive attitude is the most beneficial thing we can do. Giving our new President a chance and remaining open-minded, while being conscious of the feelings of everyone around us, perhaps is the only way to progress as a nation.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
