Recently the barn cat population at the family farm has more than doubled due to three different cats having kittens. With these new additions, the grand total has become eight cats and 12 kittens (it's a lot, I know). But what to name all of the adorable little fur balls? After countless hours of deliberation and getting to know each kitten, here's what we came up with.
1. Daenerys
Named after the "Game of Thrones" character, this feline mother of dragons is feisty and loves to play. She's also quite fluffy and fun to cuddle with, if you can get her to sit still long enough!
2. Gimli
Gimli's namesake is from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. He enjoys long walks on the beach and pondering life's great mysteries.
3. Isildur
This little fellow is also named after a "Lord of the Rings" character, and he loves to chew on hands whilst receiving belly rubs. One can only assume that he has a fascination with rings as well.
4. Serena
Sweet little Serena's picture doesn't do her justice. It's extremely unflattering, actually, but she was not feeling photogenic. Serena's fur is a mix between a tiger and a calico's, which equates to a rather adorable combination. Her name was stolen from "Pirates of the Caribbean."
5. Lena
This fuzzy little calico got her adapted name from Uncle Lino, a racehorse who contended in the Preakness. Stay tuned to find out if she's a speed demon!
6. Milo
This fellow gets his name from "Atlantis" (we have a cat by the name of Kida too). Milo is an absolute sweetheart, much like his namesake!
7. Blob
Because Spot is too original. Blob is the cuddliest of them all and has a strange obsession with biting toes. Hard.
8. Clyde
Since his mama is named Bonnie, we had to have a Clyde! We're still getting to know this little bugger and are working on an attitude adjustment since his go-to greeting is usually a hiss.
9. Timon
Timon gets his name from the meerkat in the "Lion King." I have yet to see him dress in drag and do the hula, but I remain hopeful.
10. Gisele
Gisele is incredibly fond of long naps and is willing to cuddle while doing so. Her name comes from Amy Adams' character in "Enchanted."
11. Prince Humperdinck
This fellow, named after "The Princess Bride" character, loves playing hide and seek. He isn't especially fond of snuggling, but he will play with you all day long, if you let him!
12. Eowyn
This little feisty pants was most definitely well-named (a character from "Lord of the Rings)! She fights for just causes and does not fear death, only a cage.
Bonus
Timon took an action shot of Gimli...with his face. Although the picture isn't spectacular, I think he has potential.
Some of these kiddos will probably be looking for new homes soon!
Sincerely,
We Have A Lot of Cats
