Applying to jobs and internships is overwhelming and kind of frustrating. Sometimes you really, really want a certain job and you know it's the perfect one for you. Most jobs ask for a cover letter but it's hard to write one and express how much you want the job without sounding crazy. I went through this a lot recently... I kept my cover letters professional but this is what I wish I could have said.

1. I really really really really want the job

Giphy

No, seriously like I need this.

2. I fit the job description literally perfectly

Giphy

For real I fit every requirement except maybe to 10 years of experience wanted.

3. This has been my dream job for as long as I could remember

Giphy

Really, ask my mom.

4. There is more to me than my resume

Giphy

I can also touch my tongue to my nose!

5. I will work really really hard on anything you give me

Giphy

I'll be #dedicated

6. I want this so bad I'm actually okay with just going on coffee runs for you

Giphy

I'm okay with The Devil Wears Prada lifestyle.

7. I genuinely mean it when I say I want to learn

Giphy

I'll learn it all... new slang, a new computer system, a new way to make coffee... ANYTHING.

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
