With about 100 days until graduation, I'm itching to be done.
While most people look back on high school as some of the best times in their life, it's doubtful that I will.
Don't get me wrong, I made a few real friends, and enjoyed a Friday night football game as much as the next student, but the clubs and activities and pep rally's were not for me.
For most of my high school years, I pretty much kept to myself. I tried to mingle every now and then but I had moved around and attended different schools throughout the years so I never moved on to the next grade school with the same people. Once I got into high school after attending two different middle schools that moved onto other high schools, I knew NO ONE, and didn't try to know anyone either.
I was involved in relationships my freshmen through my junior year, and my senior year has consisted of various dual enrollment classes, working, and only two classes at my actual high school, so I haven't made socializing within my school a big priority, and as we've gotten older I've realized some of these people aren't the kind of pals I need to have around anyways. I've been extremely busy, and not super involved in my high school years but I see it as a blessing because it has opened so many other doors for me.
I have a great group of friends outside of school, and no regrets because I'm most excited about what is to come in my college years.
New environment, new people, new places. It's a fresh start filled with new opportunities and I can't wait to walk across that stage and move on to a brand new chapter of life.
