What would you define strength as?

The Common Misunderstanding Of Strength

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, strength can be defined as "the quality or state of being strong: capacity for exertion or endurance." Strength is a small word with a large meaning, and it's more than just how much you can bench or squat.

Strength has nothing to do with how high you can jump, whether your muscles are defined or if they aren't, what sport team you're on or how much training it took you to get there. It has nothing to do with fitness.

Strength has everything to do with mindset because strength comes from within. Strength is going to bed after a bad day and waking up the next and telling yourself today will be better no matter how bad you want to lay in bed all day. It's being positive and helping those around you. It's helping the less fortunate. Strength is smiling when you can feel the tears start to form.

You are strong.

Strength is believing in God and knowing things will get better when nothing is going the way you want it to. It's being able to forgive others who have done you wrong, and it's the ability to forgive yourself.

Strength is the ability to keep going when adversity is trying to knock you down. Strength is getting back up after you've been knocked down. It's taking the bull by the horns and accomplishing something you never thought possible.

Being strong is so much more than physical ability. It's about showing yourself that you're worth it and that you can do anything you put your mind to. It's all up top so don't be your worst enemy and allow yourself to be strong.

You are so much stronger than you believe, and you were given the life you have because only you are strong enough to live it.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
