Each individual on this planet suffers in one way or another and also handles their sufferings in different ways.
We never have the right to assume what another goes through
A hardened heart, hidden mental breakdowns, a clouded awareness.
Bad thoughts.
As humans, we don’t have the ability to read the minds of other people.
As I walk down the sidewalks of my school, it is very easy to overhear the common gossip of a couple of girls. If words could physically hurt, these girls could have easily pained someone.
These actions always raise thoughts within me about kindness and what our calling is, as the children of God when it comes to treating others with love.
Why do known Christians treat others as if these individuals haven’t encountered any sufferings in the common life?
What makes a person think that treating someone without boundaries or a filter is okay?
Now, I am not saying I am perfect when it comes to this type of ignorance.
There is no such thing as a perfect being, and I am certainly one who has partaken in this issue more times than I can count on my hands.
But as a common person, the tiniest of struggles to one person can be the strongest weakness to another.
People slip in their own puddle of sufferings and as a result, splash some of that water onto someone else. We create our own sufferings, and sometimes someone else’s.
As God’s children, we are not only called to put ourselves in others' shoes, but to love one another equally without judgment or prejudice.
We all encounter conflicts that keep us from moving forward.
So I encourage you, put yourself in someone else’s shoes this week.
Be kind and spread the love of the Lord like we are called to do.
And most importantly, pray to God to help prevent your initial instinct of being ignorant to the sufferings of other people.
