As a junior in college, I have had some amazing professors. The past two years have been no walk in the park, but thankfully, I have had professors who have helped me through it all.

There was one professor who changed my life in a way that is pretty hard to describe, this one is for you.

To the College Professor Who Changed My Life,

I am the student that I am today because of you. You challenged me to be the best student that I can be, and I am so thankful for that.

You taught me things that most professors don't seem to care about. You taught me the importance of living life to the fullest because we are not guaranteed tomorrow. Your lessons went beyond the material presented in class. You would talk to us for an entire class period about the power of words and stressed the importance of attending class and getting our money's worth. You told stories and told countless jokes to make your students smile and laugh. Yes, I was pretty much the only one laughing 100% of the time, but only because it made me so happy to have someone in my life who worked so hard to make my day better. I always looked forward to your class and I knew that no matter how hard of a day I was having, I was guaranteed a laugh in your class.

When I had a rough day, you would listen to me rant and get emotional. You gave me extensions if I needed it and never expected an assignment from me when I was in an emotional state of mind. Yes, the semester you taught me was one of the hardest of my life, but you went out of your way for me. You went above and beyond the requirements of a typical college professor and I will never forget that about you.

I can truly say that you kept me motivated that semester. In a time where it would have been so easy to give up, I knew that I had someone who believed in me. It's easy to say a professor "cares about his/her students", but I never knew what that was like until I met you. I definitely didn't think that I could find a professor like you at such a large university. I'm not a number to you, I'm a student who has a name and a life that matters, and you made sure every one of your students knew that.

So, thank you for everything you taught me. Thank you for all the times you made me laugh, for all the life lessons you gave me, and for keeping me grounded and motivated. Honestly, I don't remember much about the course, but the lessons you taught me have stuck with me throughout all of this time. It was an honor to be your student and I truly appreciate the fact that you never gave up on me, even when others did.

Sincerely,

Your former student.

female tv characters
We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
