The Clown Epidemic

A Trend That Needs To Stop

The Clown Epidemic

I'm sure we've all heard of the many clowns that have been appearing all over the United States recently, but this is no laughing matter. As many know, this started as just a very creepy thing that a few people decided would be a good idea to scare someone and potentially make the news. But, unfortunately, this has spawned a follow of many others who have donned the clown attire. Not only this, it has started to evolve into progressively more and more serious situations.

Many clowns have been reported walking up to household security cameras and taunting the residents, holding dangerous weapons in public, and hanging around schools, to the extent that many have had to be put on lock down to prevent anything from happening. There have even been people dressed as clowns trying to lure children from playgrounds with money or candy, one reported saying to go to "the house by the river." Other reports have varied from clowns just being a problem in convenience stores, to being a huge threat around elementary schools.

However, many people have decided that they have had enough with all the clowns and have decided to take action. I'm sure many have seen the video of students at Penn State chasing what is allegedly a clown and having the police called to deal with it. Another group of people decided to grab assorted items and going "clown hunting." To some, this may sound like a great idea, but it should really be left to the police when it comes to finding and dealing with these clowns.

With all these reports and sightings, this problem has spread throughout 39 states so far and does not look as if it is slowing down, especially with Halloween fastly approaching. A recent event in Australia shows that this is not just an issue the USA is having to deal with. Hopefully these people who dress up will soon see past this stupid trend and realize that what they are doing is wrong. It's okay to dress up like a clown, but when you take it to these extremes, it's not only wrong, but a crime too.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
