Originally, I started this article off by telling you about my week and how poor it has been but remembered how insignificant that is compared to what I’ve been able to realize this week. In fact, I’m telling you this right now to expose how fast and subtly the devil can work in and through us without us noticing!
Do you ever chat with somebody and suddenly you (or they) begin complaining about life or how the week has been? It puts a little bit of a damper on the mood, especially if the conversation was positive to begin with. Interestingly enough, the Gospel is known as “the good news,” so it would make sense for the devil to stifle good news with bad news and the moans of complaining.
Which that’s what I almost did, but recognized it for once in my life! It is time to get serious and time to let God flow through my mind instead of Satan.
All of this aside, I had an experience this Saturday. It shouldn’t have been one that faded away from my mind so fast, but I let it. I saturated my mind and life with sinful actions that very day, and the next. “I used to be free,” I’d think in my head, but the reality was this: Jesus Christ saved me and set me free from the law of sin and death, along with the bondage of things in this world.
The reality is also that we must accept His lovely, incredible offering - and stick to the values of God. Without Him, we are nothing. He is the air inside our lungs, the light in the sky and the light covering the darkness. Without following His values, we can’t properly receive what is promised to us. If we fail to follow the values of God, the devil has an open door to tell us that we aren’t free, or that we can never be saved. This couldn’t be farther from the truth, but our minds are easy to deceive in that point.
The main point of this article is very simple, that’s why it’s considerably short compared to my other works. It’s that the closeness of Christ is immeasurable, not because He is so far away, but rather because He is so close. Christ is so close to us, in that He is in us. Incredible, isn’t it?
Today, live in the knowledge that Christ is in you. People live daily acknowledging that they have various things inside their body, from cancer to sicknesses to parasites. They adjust their lifestyle accordingly. Adjust your lifestyle to acknowledge Christ in you, who is the hope of glory, the savior of the world, our healer and our defender! The path may be foggy, but let your heart find trust in Him today - He will never fail you!
