Going into college, we don't really know who we're going to meet. There are the people we live with, the people we study with, and the people we choose to spend all of our time with. I am lucky enough to have found a best friend in the person I sat next to in class on my very first day where I knew no one. I am blessed to have a person to share notes with, while secretly writing each other notes in class. I am lucky enough to have found someone I share classes and study sessions with in the same person I share my deepest secrets, darkest nights, and happiest memories with.
The first semester of freshman year, basically everyone in my major had all of our classes together. We spent all of our time together, but I initially didn't get very close to any one. Suddenly, I realized that a girl in one of my non-major classes was also in my major. One day we started talking, and everything just seemed to click. We had a lot in common, had the same sense of humor, and bonded over how much homework we had to do. We began studying together and going to get Starbucks after class.
At one point, we started hanging out outside of class, talking about our lives and telling each other everything. She quickly became my best friend on campus, and now we are basically inseparable. We do everything together, and despite not being in the same major anymore, still managed to take a class together. We go on adventures, go to parties, have movie nights, drink way too much Starbucks, and take a million pictures together. We've met each other's families and spent time together over the summer. We talk on the phone almost everyday during breaks because we just miss each other too much. I just think it's incredible that a stranger I sat next to in class became my best friend in such a short period of time. I am forever grateful for our introductory philosophy class bringing us together, and I know that I have been blessed with a forever friend.
