It's officially Christmas time! Who's excited?! (I'm raising both of my hands right now.) This really is a special time of the year and it always seems to sneak up on us! What better way to get in the holiday spirit than to listen to the most famous elf in the world describe the joys and not-so-joys of the season? He may be over six feet tall and might not be the best toy maker in the North Pole, but he knows a thing or two about Christmas.

1. "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!"

Bring on the Christmas carols! You'll be hearing Jingle Bells in your car, in the stores, at the gym, and basically everywhere else so instead of trying to fight it, join in!

2. "Santa! Oh, my god! Santa's coming! I know him! I know him!"

The line of little kids jumping up and down with excitement to see the big guy at the mall always seems to bring a little extra Christmas spirit to the season. Unless you're a parent who's waiting with them and going slightly deaf listening to them scream and cry.

3. "This place reminds me of Santa's Workshop! Except it smells like mushrooms and everyone looks like they want to hurt me."

Sound a little like the mall? Black Friday may be over but the stores are still packed! Make sure you thank the workers and wish them a happy holiday season because they're putting in a lot of hours so that you can shop for your loved ones.

4. "We elves like to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup."

The sweets certainly make quite the appearance during this time of year, but it's a holiday, so calories don't count.

5. "Son of a NUT-cracker!"

Christmas is a stressful time of the year, no matter how you look at it. Try to keep your cool when someone takes the last iPad or drone or whatever parents get their kids these days.

6. "What's a Christmas-gram? I want one!"

This is the season of giving, and even a simple Christmas card will make someone smile.

7. "It's just nice to meet another human who shares my affinity for elf culture."

While many of us love the holiday, there are people who don't celebrate Christmas or just don't enjoy the season for multiple reasons. Of course this is completely okay, but it's always nice to meet someone who is just as obsessed with Christmas as you are.

8. "What about Santa's cookies? I suppose "parents" eat those, too?"

To all the parents out there stressing over the new hiding spot for the Elf on the Shelf and making sure all the presents are stored away, remember that you're keeping the true spirit of Christmas alive for your kids. You're doing a great job.

9. "Good morning, Sarah. That's a nice purple dress. Very purplely."

Lots of people will be breaking out their winter dresses and Christmas ties as they gear up for the holiday. A compliment goes a long way.

10. "I thought maybe we could make gingerbread houses, and eat cookie dough, and go ice skating, and maybe even hold hands."

Ah yes, the Christmas romances. The twinkling lights on the tree, the warm fireplace, the white blanket of snow outside, the mistletoe that you both coincidentally meet under. It's a magical time of the year and is the perfect season to spend with that special someone.

11. "Watch out! The yellow ones don't stop!"

Stay safe this holiday season! There will be lots of traffic so take your time driving and be careful walking!

12. "I just like to smile. Smiling's my favorite."

A smile could cheer up someone's day in a second. It doesn't take much to send a little happiness someone's way.

13. "There's room for everyone on the Nice List!"

As you enjoy your family and friends this holiday season, remember that not everyone is fortunate enough to have a merry holiday. Take some time to give back to the community around you, including soup kitchens, animal shelters, and clothing and toy drives. Be someone who Santa would put on his Nice List.

I hope this holiday season is a happy time for you and your family! And don't forget to watch the best Christmas movies on TV (including "Elf")!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
