After celebrating Thanksgiving the countdown to Christmas has officially begun, that means you jump up and down with Christmas music playing in the background. Yes, it is finally acceptable to wear those tacky Christmas sweaters and listen to Christmas music like their is no tomorrow. For many, you pull out the Christmas decorations and line the tree with plenty of lights and twinkling ornaments, but if you are anything like my family then your house is already decorated with the lights lining the outside of the house and the trees hung with glee. I love that we get to feel Christmas earlier than anyone else.
I love the build-up to Christmas, there is so much Christmas cheer in the air with people's decorations displayed and all the hurry to get the all the gifts for their loved ones. I enjoy it being cold, whenever that will happen here, having the fire burning making the living room all cozy and warm with classic Christmas movies playing like Christmas Vacation, White Christmas, and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Those are some of my favorite movie's as a kid and Christmas Vacation is a classic for my family always leaving us fits of laughter every time; we sometimes even figure out which character is us in real life, that can always leads to some sarcastic remarks and more laughter of the visualization of that.
I love that Christmas is about being cheerful and happy for the blessings we have been giving, remembering that Jesus was born and rejoice his name at the end of the year. I love that even during the gift giving we remember that Jesus was the ultimate gift to us and the gift that never goes out of style or fade. We can sometimes forget about his bountiful blessings during our trials but during Christmas we can remember why we love him and why he loves us. There is a reason why CHRISTmas is spelled the way it is, let us not forget that. I love this time of year, so let the Christmas Countdown begin and let my love for this season continue to grow even more.
