There were many great songs in 2016, but here are the top five songs.

1. "Closer" by The Chainsmokers

The most catchy song was released July 29, 2016. After the Chainsmokers released “Don’t Let Me Down” the fan clinged to “Closer” making the song number one real fast. The song is placed across the globe and now many find the song still catchy.

2. “Work from Home” by Fifth Harmony

Fifth Harmony let their song out on February 26, 2016. The song features rapper Ty Dolla Sign. With the repetitive word, "work," the song will stay in your head all day. The song took a month to reach the number one spot on Billboard.

3. “Cheap Thrills” by Sia

On February 11, 2016 Sia released another smash hit. The song did not start climbing the charts until mid summer. Once the song the was national hit, then it became a world hit. Even though we do not know the lady behind the wig, she does know how to write tremendous hits and keeps on doing it year by year.

4. “Cold Water” by Major Lazer feat Justin Bieber

The heartthrob Bieber has another recorded year. Releasing songs by himself and with others, he still finds a way to melt girls hearts all over the world. “Cold Water” was released on July 21, 2016. Once people found out Justin Bieber was in the song, the song climbed the charts all over the world real fast.

5. "Broccoli" by D.R.A.M ft Lil Yachty

Who would write about a vegetable. That does not make sense to many. The new artists, D.R.A.M and Lil Yachty made the song work. When you listen to the song, you realize what the song is really about and not a vegetable. The two made a catchy intro to the song and had many listeners really enjoy the song. The song made a smash even though it is title about a vegetable.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
