The Bralette

My favorite undergarment since 2016.

Never in a million years did I ever think I would write and article about undergarments. But yet, here I am. My favorite thing that I have discovered recently is the bralette. Ladies, you need one of these babies.

Let me break it down for you why I love this little piece of clothing so very much.

1. They are fully supportive, but lightweight.

Ladies if you are like me and you hate wearing bras, but know that you must, then these are for you! I hate underwires, and you won't find an underwire in a bralette. Can I get an amen?

2. The fancy backs.

I have many tops and dresses that have a scoop in the back or are semi-backless. My options before the bralette were stick on suction cups with double sided or going braless. Let me tell you that option number was always a no go, yikes. Also, let's be real, stick on bras and double sided tape is a real pain. It is a pain on all physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. I loved those outfits, and I never got to wear them that much because I was unwilling to put myself through what should be considered torture by the Geneva Convention. But now that the bralette with all of its fancy back straps that make it look a part of the shirt or dress I can dress in confidence knowing I won't be a fashion don't by having the clasp of my bra showing. The bralettes I own give me many different options on how I want to wear my clothing. So bring on the fun tank tops and cocktail dresses!

3. Your boobs won't be in jail.

Allow me to be very real here, my favorite part of the day should be when I'm at my job teaching my students or even when I come home and my dog is just so excited to see me. I love those moments, but my actual favorite moment of the day is when I take my bra off. I live for that moment from the time when I first put my bra on in the morning. My dear friend, the bralette makes me feel like I'm not wearing any bra at all -- it is glorious. Bralettes are fully supportive and give you all the coverage you need, and ladies, the biggest perk is that you don't feel like you have just wrapped a thousand ace bandages around your chest. I feel as if this is how God intended my life to be. True freedom.

If you have gotten to the end of this article and you still haven't hopped on over to your favorite bra retailer's website, then may I ask, "Why not?" Bralettes come in all shapes and sizes and give you what you need and what you want. I will shout my love for the bralette from the rooftop every single day. Trust me, once you experience a bralette day, you will never regret that decision.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
