The Book Of Random

Photos compiled randomly, but photos that have meaning behind them.

As I have mentioned before, I am no professional photographer! However, I enjoy playing around with different effects on the photos and different techniques to use! This selection photos is nothing but random and pure playfulness (on my end)! I hope you enjoy "The Book Of Random".

Chapter 1: "Jam-Jar-Boree"

My dad and I made this jar contraption this summer. I am fond of this picture because it reminds me of the great time we had constructing this together. My dad is a gem and he does nothing but perfection in his work. I thought this picture played off of the sun really awesomely! The jam jars have a great effect when sun shines through.

Chapter 2: "Purple Ray-ne"

This picture reminds me of how gorgeous nature can be! You can see the river running through with the grass which is still green! When adding the effect on this picture the purple really caught my eye! As it is my favorite color, but it gives the picture an unrealistic quality about it. Although, it is the suns beauty in all of its glory.

Chapter 3: "Clear Intentions"

As this is one of my favorite quotes, it is proudly displayed in my room. Can't you just feel the serene beauty from the nature that reflects through? I am always amazed with the gorgeous sunrises that happen through this window!

Chapter 4: "Neat-ure Walk"

Fall is upon us, even though it doesn't feel like it! Red leaves are my absolute favorite. I had to take a snap of this because there are red leaves amidst the green grass! I hope to dedicate a full album to fall, because it is my absolute favorite time of the year!

Chapter 5: "Unexpected Sights"

During a recent trip to Rapid City, we stopped randomly on the side of the road to take a picture. Suddenly we looked over the edge and saw this gorgeous view. Its amazing the things you discover when you are least expecting it! Shout out to my adventure buddy!

Chapter 6: "Bridges to the Unknown"

On the nature walk we had a few weeks back, I had to stop and take a picture of this. I am a sucker for rustic bridges and to come across a wood bridge is my favorite thing! The sun was so powerful and casted a strong shadow effect from the structure and support of the bridge. Let it inspire you if you wish!

Chapter 7: "Passion with a Purpose"

This picture is one of my favorites from the collection. Not because of its quality, but because of its meaning. My friend has been working hard to establish a non-profit organization. She is in the starting stages, but she is already doing such a wonderful thing! She is making and collecting clay pots from her local high school. Selling these gorgeous pots, mugs, and vases for only $10. 100% of the proceeds goes to Kids Against Hunger. Anyway, I decided to buy one of them and make an arrangement of flowers in them. So, here is to my friend in pursuing her passion to change the world.

Christmas Tree
History.com

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
