Semester two is here.
Halfway through the school year.
For some, months away from it all being over.
And to me, a new semester is one of my favorite parts about college academics, because no matter what happened this fall, it's done (maybe the results are still stained on your cumulative GPA but that's beside the point).
Your notebooks are blank.
Your new year's resolutions to be better, do more, and work harder are still in the front of your mind.
Your agenda is not yet filled with scribbles and notes on all of your obligations, but it's coming, and you're ready.
You are as organized as you are capable of getting.
Your room, apartment, or dorm room are clean (at least for today).
This semester, embrace it--not just knowing there is warm weather ahead, a spring break in the middle, and a summer at the end.
Embrace your new classes, as your credits climb closer to the degree of your dreams. Embrace the knowledge, the new people you will meet, and opportunities that you've never experienced.
Embrace the challenge of a new workload.
Embrace that it might not be easy.
Wake up on the frightfully cold morning this week.
Lay in bed for a few minutes and think about the day in your head before you have a million places to be again.
Take a warm shower.
Adapt an attitude that wants to make a footprint this time around, create a path, and make a difference.
Decide that you are going to start everything now, not tomorrow.
Decide that you are going to make the best of today, and tomorrow, decide that same thing again.
And most importantly, before you leave, grab a cup of coffee on your way.
