The Best Things about Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is fast approaching us and I couldn’t be more excited. This is basically a holiday celebrating all that’s good in life and food. Who wouldn’t want to celebrate that? So with that being said, here’s a list of my top 12 favorite things about Thanksgiving!

1. Mashed Potatoes

This is my favorite dish, every Thanksgiving. My grandma and my mom have perfected this recipe over the years and this is the food I am most looking forward to devouring.

2. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

My family watches this every year together and it’s a classic!

3. Football

Whether you’re watching it on TV or playing it out in the front yard, Thanksgiving isn’t complete without it!

4. Turkey

You can’t call it Thanksgiving dinner without it!

5. Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

These awesome floats in New York City are always fun to watch!

6. Going to Church

This is something my family does every year. We go to mass on Thanksgiving Day to give thanks to God for everything we have in our lives. It’s a great time to reflect and a good start to a usually busy day!

7. The Coziness of it All

There’s just something about a warm space filled with food and people that you love that makes you both warm on the inside and the outside.

8. Man Hunt: Cousin Edition

This one is bit more specific to my family, but every Thanksgiving, my cousins and I always end up playing man hunt, a version of hide-and-go-seek tag. It usually ends in a fight, but it has become a tradition nonetheless!

9. The Laughter

No matter what is going on in our lives, Thanksgiving is always a joyous and lighthearted time for my family. We remember all the good times that we’ve had with each other and laugh about it!

10. Pumpkin Pie!

Need I say more?

11. Stuffing, Creamed corn, Rolls, Cranberries, etc…

Basically any food I haven’t mentioned before now because ALL of the food is amazing!

12. And of course: Being with Family

Getting to see everyone in my family and just spend time with them is my favorite part of Thanksgiving!

So, I hope this little list gets you excited for one of the best holidays of the year! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
