As summer is in full swing, many of us are taking much needed vacations. In fact, I just got back from my summer vacation and I put together a list of the items that came in handy. Vacation is all about relaxation and letting your worries escape, however, when you aren't relaxing, you might need some ideas to get moving. After spending a week at the beach on vacation, here are the best summer vacation necessities that I found to be the best:
1. Cornhole
Me and my family's favorite activity to do at the beach is playing cornhole. It is the perfect game to play in the sun by the pool or the beach. The game is simple: toss the bag and try to make it in the hole. Whichever team is the first to get to 21 wins. You can even customize your cornhole boards to represent your favorite team or even make them yourself!
2. Portable Bluetooth Speakers
What better way to enjoy your vacation than relaxing or hanging out to music? The best times are almost always accompanied by a great playlist. You can purchase speakers nearly anywhere and they will be the perfect asset.
3. Polaroid camera
One of the most popular vintage cameras are making a huge comeback. Polaroid cameras are a unique and different way of capturing moments on vacation. You can change the settings on them to take high quality photos outside or even inside. Also, you can purchase film covers here that will add a film of color to the photo.
4. Cooler
In order to keep your beverages and/or food nice and fresh while out in the sun, you should consider bringing a cooler. Coolers are imperative to keep everything you need cold. Fill it up with ice and store everything you need. In fact, you can even buy a cooler with a white lid and decorate it yourself. The photo above is an example of the cooler I bought and designed by using spray paint and stencils.
5. Beach Canopy
If you're staying by the beach for more than a few days, you might need a break from the sun for a day or two. Tents are great because not only do they add shade, but you can keep all of your items and chairs underneath so they don't get overheated by the sun. It really is a great investment.
6. Baseball Glove / Baseballs
Another one of my favorite activities to do on the beach is playing baseball. Whether it's just you and another person throwing the ball or multiple people, playing baseball is a great way to kill time on vacation. It's a simple yet really fun way to unite a group of friends and get some sun as well. Just make sure you keep your eye on the ball!
