The Top 11 Stonehill Caf Options

Throughout all of our time here at Stonehill College, one of our most visited places on campus is the caf. The highlight of certain classes is pulling out your phone and checking what's for lunch or dinner in the caf. When certain food is being served for a meal, it brightens up our entire days. So here's my compilation of some of the best caf food here at Stonehill.

1. The Bakery.

Let's be honest, anything from the bakery is sure to be a hit. Whether you're grabbing something for breakfast or getting something sweet after dinner, the bakery is a student favorite. Ranging from cupcakes of the week, to bagels, ice cream, and pastries; it's all delicious.

2. Maria's Omelettes.

When you're heading to brunch on a Sunday morning (after sleeping until about 12:30), nothing is more exciting than seeing a short omelette line. The only way it could get better is if Maria is there whipping up everyone's omelettes. She makes them better than anyone else and always crafts each one with love.

3. Taco Tuesday.

Taco Tuesday is a staple here at Stonehill. Every Tuesday, we all wait in the same super long lines at lunch, just to get a soft taco with some tortilla chips on the side. What can I say, it's a classic.

4. Chicken Wrap Thursday

While not as catchy as Taco Tuesday, Chicken Wrap Thursday is another fan favorite. I'm a crispy chicken girl myself, but whether you like the crispy or the grilled chicken, you still love chicken wrap Thursday.

5. Trail Mix

I know I already talked about the bakery, but trail mix nights need their own recognition. When you walk into the caf unaware of how much better your night's gonna get, and then you spot a group of girls all holding trail mix. You get all excited and start telling your friends. "Hey I think there's trail mix tonight" (trying to keep it cool obviously).

6. The Soups

We all have to admit, the soups in the caf have gotten a serious upgrade. Almost every day I am tempted by the soup options. Shoutout to whoever has been working hard on making those so delicious! My favorite thing is when they use vegetables from our own Stonehill farm in the soups.

7. Pastabilities

Who doesn't love a make-your-own pasta dinner? With all the different options for your pasta, pastabilities lets you make your own choices and feel in control of at least some part of your life. While the line is always super long, we all find ourselves waiting in it just for pastabilities.

8. Potstickers

Another long line-inducing meal, pot stickers at the International always get people excited.

9. Chicken Fritters

While they're basically the same things as chicken nuggets, the chicken fritters in the caf are somehow way better. Billy always serves them up with love, no matter how stressed he gets about the long line at the grill. Whether you're a BBQ sauce kinda person or a honey mustard type, we all love chicken fritters.

10. Breakfast Sandwiches

Another lucky morning would be if you stroll into the caf only to see barely a line for the breakfast sandwiches. Bagels, croissants, and English muffins all make wonderful bases for our eggs, cheese, bacon, and sausage. One of the best ways to start of your morning at Stonehill is with a breakfast sandwich.

11. Paninis

When you're not interested in many of the other options in the caf for lunch or dinner, grabbing a panini is always a good way to go. It always brightens my day when Robby is there making the mini meatballs.

The Post Thanksgiving Panic And Anxiety

It happens to all of us, the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas the catch up with you.

Thanksgiving Break is most likely everyone’s favorite break during the fall semester. You get to go home and reminisce with all your high school friends. That diet you’ve been on for the past month goes out the window, and you get to eat until you put yourself into a food coma. There’s no rush on homework and you can just lie in bed and Netflix to your heart’s content. To me that sounds like an ideally wonderful break, and totally stress-free.

Grey's Anatomy

Even Shonda Rhimes, winning creator and executive producer of the hit TV shows Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and The Catch agrees that relationships with fictional characters are real. In her book, The Year of Yes she states, "I have spent more time with Meredith and Christina then many of my actual friends...When you watched TV, even spending a full hour with Christina once a week, you were likely spending more time with her then you spent with most people in your life. That relationship was real."

Going to the gym and working out on a daily basis (with breaks once in awhile) has been a great way for me to feel good about myself. It is 100% more than just looking good. Especially after starting college and having the stress and anxiety of tests, assignments, and just figuring out my future, the gym at my school has definitely been a place of relief for me and I have numerous reasons of why everyone should push themselves to get to the gym when they can.
