One of the best feelings is when you’re in the car with your friends and a song comes on and all of you belt it in perfect harmony like you’ve been rehearsing this performance since birth. Those are the songs you kind of hear sometimes but not very often. Those are the types of moments you will remember and laugh about for years to come. These are the best songs to bump to in the car and why.
- Good Girls Go Bad – Cobra Starship ft. Leighton Meester
- Kiss Me Thru The Phone – Soulja Boy
- Down – Jay Sean ft. Lil Wayne
- Knock Knock – Mac Miller
- Bedrock – Young Money
- Hollaback Girl – Gwen Stefani
- Before He Cheats - Carrie Underwood
- Stacy’s Mom – Fountain of Wayne
- Mr. Brightside – The Killers
- Somewhere On a Beach – Dierks Bently
- Bet On It – Zac Efron
- Piano Man – Billy Joel
We all freak out once we hear this song knowing every word but some of us fail to realize that the girl in this song is actually the queen of the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf. Personally, I didn’t know it was Blair until this year and it automatically made the song 10x better.

678 - 999 - 8212 is a phone number we probably have memorized better than our parents or even our own. This number actually used to be an updating hotline for Soulja Boy and you would call it and it would be a voicemail of him explaining what he’s been up to lately. When I was younger I would call it all the time and make people think it was real -- it wasn’t.

This song was such a bop back in 09/10. Where has Jay Sean gone? No idea, but this song will always be a hit. Also having Lil Wayne in it when he is not as vulgar with his words is a plus. We also know this rap like the back of our hand and we are so out of breath when it’s over. But honestly, we still go down to this song like the economy.

About 5 years ago was when Mac Miller was popular for our age group. I feel like most people if not everyone knew of Mac Miller and a couple of his songs. Knock Knock is one of those songs that the beat gets stuck in your head and all you want to do dance. To be honest, every Mac song is so good and I could play every album and mixtape and bump like there’s no tomorrow.

Bedrock is one of those songs that everyone knows each rap part to so each person can get one and completely kill it. It’s like you and your friends are Gudda, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga and Millz in the flesh. Then the chorus hits and everyone has all the background sounds and it is like an acapella group but without the acapella, if that makes sense.

This song was Gwen’s claim to fame after leaving No Doubt. This song really is our ish. Blasting this with the bass bumping and the car shaking is really a great feeling. This song also could save us as kids in a spelling bee if a word was bananas. If you don’t shout the letters to bananas you shouldn’t ever be allowed to sing this song.

The ultimate girl power revenge song out there. Belting this song with my friends kind of makes me want to go take a bat to both headlights of a guy who did me dirty. I don’t know why but I feel like country music makes me think I can sing but I really sound awful, but that’s no excuse to stop trying to hit notes I can’t hit.

Those first guitar strands of the song is the cue to prep your band (friends) to put on the performance of your lives. Someone has the air drums, air guitar, lead singer, and back up vocals. This song is just a classic and a great song to vibe to and sing along to. We also have thought at one point of our lives to name our child Stacy just for the recognition of this song.

The instrumental intro of this song is very much needed for you and your friends to get it together and get ready to howl COMING OUT OF MY CAGE AND I’VE BEEN DOING JUST FINE. This song is so good to jam to. It brings such good vibes and smiles among you and your friends. It is one of those feel good songs and will always be.

This song is fairly recent but I really love blasting this is my car. I am not a huge fan of country but this song makes me feel some type of way. It really makes me want to be on a beach sipping something very, very strong. I can just bob my head along and sing to my friends like I am actually telling them about how I am on this amazing vacation, but am I really? Naw.

Anything from HSM is car bumping worthy but Bet On It has that extra bump. I truly feel like I am frolicking through the golf course, jumping around, and splashing my reflection in the water. HSM 2 is especially better since Zac actually sings as Troy and it isn’t Drew Seeley anymore. This song was probably a jab back at the producers to prove he could actually sing.

This is a real throwback since this song came out in '73. Classics are actually so good and not given enough credit. Those first harmonica harmonies are such an exciting part of the song because you and your friends know what’s about to go down. This song is five and a half minutes of pure happiness and complete unity.

There are so many songs to bump to in the car with your friends but these are some of my all time favorites. I am a huge fan of bumping so I have a playlist of probably 500 songs. Sometimes (a lot) I bump alone and people probably look at me like I am a psycho but I just love jamming. Hope you all enjoyed and will take these songs to your car with your friends and have as much fun as I do!
