The Best Smells Your Nose Will Sense

One of my favorite things to do is pop open the top of a fresh, new, Candleberry candle, specifically Hot Maple Toddy. I could light a candle and sit and smell it all day long. I don't know about you, but I have the nose of a hound. I could smell something good or something gross in a matter of no time. Personally, I would rather smell something yummy... so I compiled a list of the top 10 best smells in the whole world.

1. Burning Wood

Everyone loves the smell of wood burning, whether it's in the summer time or in the winter time inside. The smell of wood brings back memories of summer and a warm feeling inside.

2. Flowers

Tending to a flower garden is fun, but getting flowers from that special someone is even better. No smell can compare to those roses or magnolias! Not to mention, they look real pretty too.

3. Homemade Bread

Nothing beats the smell of homemade bread in the oven at Grandma's house! It gives off a warm aroma that makes you want to eat the whole loaf.

4. Homemade Cookies

Oops, I may have spoken too soon. The best smell in the kitchen is those homemade cookies. Chocolate chip, melted chocolate, browned just right in the oven... "get in my belly!"

5. Hot Maple Toddy Candle

If you haven't smelled Candleberry's Hot Maple Toddy candle, then you aren't living right! This candle burns 24/7 in my house, and I think if it was edible I would totally eat it. Try it the next time you need a new candle!

6. Ocean

One of my favorite smells is the smell of the ocean. Going to the beach, sitting in the white sand, looking at the blue ocean...nothing beats it. Take me now!

7. Fruit

Fruit is so tasty, but it also smells so good. When you cut into a juicy pineapple or mango you get hit with a fresh smell that makes you want to eat the whole thing.

8. A New Car Smell

This one is an all-around favorite. Brand new, straight out of the dealer lot, and you're feeling like a zillion bucks! The leather and the cleanliness of the car gives off this brand new smell. Nothing better.

9. Chick-Fil-A Nuggets

OK, you can't say you don't agree that every time you walk into Chick-fil-a saying you want a salad, you come out getting the nuggets because it smells so divine. Those nuggets are hard to beat. I just hope they have them in heaven...

10. Melted Chocolate

Melted chocolate... Put a big chocolate bar or coating chocolate in the microwave and smell it as it comes out. That chocolate puts everything else to shame.

I am sure you could come up with a good list that are your comfort smells or the smells that you think are the best smells in the world. Hopefully, you can find some of your favorite smells on this list!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
