Sometimes school is just too much to handle and you just need to have a good cry. Cries can happen at any time and at any place and it’s okay! You’re a busy college student who probably isn’t getting enough sleep. Should you feel a cry coming on, just let it happen. If you don’t feel comfortable crying at the location where you feel the cry coming on, refer to this list to find a good place to cry and remove yourself from your current location quickly. Pro-tip: always carry a pair of dark sunglasses with you so that you can whip them out and hide a cry at a moment’s notice.

1. The airplane lounge in Madison Union

Nice and quiet with comfy couches? Sounds like an excellent place to shed some tears!

2. TDU

Treat yo' self to a pretzel while you’re at it... and an ice cream

3. The benches on the Quad

Might as well, ya know?

4. Beside Newman Lake

A perfect place to contemplate all your problems and stress and life in general. Bring crackers to feed the ducks. Trust, it’s therapeutic.

5. In the courtyard in front of Miller Hall

Not a lot of people pass through and it’s a nice place to just sit and cry.

6. The Arboretum

Surround yourself with plants and nature. Take a couple laps around the Arboretum and just let it out.

7. In the stacks of Carrier Library

We’ve all cried here at least once and if you haven’t, it’s a good place to cry. 5/5 Stars, would cry here again.

8. Pro Room 2 in Forbes

Mainly directed towards Performing Arts Majors but believe me when I say, it’s one of the best places to cry on campus... usually empty, a couch, a blanket, and the resident model skeleton to keep you company and listen to your tears.

9. The Oasis in the Counseling Center

Might as well sit in a massage chair when you’re crying!

10. In the dark when movies are going on in Grafton-Stovall Theatre

Granted, you do need to pay an entrance fee to cry here but at least you get free popcorn and a movie out of this cry!

11. In front of Dog Pound when you’re buying a cookie

Perfect for when you’re drunk crying over that stupid frat boy in Kappa Apple Pie and hungry.

12. In your car when you’re waiting to park in Warsaw

For when you’re watching the last four parking spots get taken and the screen turns to that gut wrenching “FULL.”

13. In the back of a 7 a.m. Cycle Class at UREC

As someone who has done this three times, nobody will know...is it sweat or is it tears?

14. On the bus, as you go from class to class

This is best if you want a quick cry sesh while going to a place where it’ll probably make you want to cry even more.

15. On the remains of DHall

RIP DHall #GoneButNeverForgotten

So there you have it, folks! The best places to cry at JMU. Bring tissues, chocolate, and sad music and you’re all set for a good cry.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
