San Luis Obispo is home to some of the best eateries in the central coast. Whether you are in need of a decked out breakfast burrito, some home-made delicacies, or just your average egg and bacon combo, SLO has a restaurant for you.
Sally Loo’s
Sally Loo’s has it all with its gourmet presentation and cozy ambiance that never lets you leave without thinking of home. Their fried egg sandwiches are to die for and accompanied by a cup of their coffee your belly will be thanking you all day long. The walls are lined with pictures or art that captures the beauties of the central coast and of California. Sally Loo’s is yet another reminder why we chose San Luis Obispo to be our home. Be sure to check out their specials; they are always guaranteed to impress.
Apple Farm
Apple Farm is by far the most under appreciated breakfast place by Cal Poly students. However, it happens to be one of my favorites. A trip to Apple Farm guarantees a whole hearty meal that will leave you full all morning long. Not to mention their amazing baked goods that will leave your taste bud’s asking for more. This is a great place to bring family and friends but beware Apple Farm will resemble the inside of your grandma’s house but I find that makes the experience that much better.
Honeymoon Cafe
Honeymoon Cafe is a little outside the San Luis Obispo range since it is located in Pismo, but I thought it was too delicious to bypass. Honeymoon Cafe is a trendy restaurant that has an organic appearance. This breakfast place has many healthy options that are delicious as well. My personal favorite is the honeymoon bagel smothered with cream cheese and topped with sprouts, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers with a lemon mayo and last but not least egg and cheese to create the ultimate breakfast experience. The beach culture that surrounds the cafe definitely induces a relaxed vibe where you can help yourself to a cup of coffee and a seat outside on the patio.
Charlie’s Place
If you are looking for a quick sit down with endless mimosas and bloody marys to get your day started, Charlie’s Place is for you. They have an assortment of breakfast foods but are known for putting a Mexican twist on your typical breakfast selections. Whether you want an omelet Spanish style or just your traditional stack of pancakes, Charlie’s place will meet your standards.
G-Bros
G-Bros puts a southern twist on your average breakfast meals. G-Bros’ condiment bar can satisfy any condiment craving. Whether you want to add a little kick to your breakfast burrito by adding their tangy bbq sauce or spice it up by adding salsa, G-Bros has it all. Its close proximity to campus and speedy service makes it a easy stop for students on the go.
Whether you attend Cal Poly, are just a resident of the San Luis Obispo area, or passing through be ready to brunch because the options are endless and way too scrumptious to pass up.
