If you know me, you probably know that I have a very broad music taste. I listen to everything from pop to alternative to show tunes. However, something that often shocks my friends is my taste for "oldies" music from legends such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Dean Martin.
Although they have a bad connotation and stereotype of being outdated and for grandparents, listening to older songs have seriously benefited me. My head always feels clearer and my day seems more manageable listening to the old swing tunes and beats. There are even updated versions of old songs sung by great modern artists such as Lady Gaga and Michael Buble. Give it a try! All of the songs listed below are my personal favorites and they are very near to my heart. I was introduced to all of these songs from a very young age, and they continue to warm and brighten my day just as they did years ago.1. "I've Got You Under My Skin" - Frank Sinatra (1956)
"Use your mentality, wake up to reality..."
2. "Mack The Knife" - Bobby Darin (1959)
"Now on the sidewalk, oh early morning..."
3. "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" - Tony Bennett ft. Michael Buble (2011)
"Missed the Saturday dance..."
4. "Sway" - Dean Martin (1954)
"When marimba rhythm starts to play..."
