The Best of "Odyssey Rejects"

The "Odyssey Rejects" (@OdysseyRejects) Twitter handle, or in my opinion, one of the funniest accounts on twitter, solely pokes fun at the "basic" or overused Odyssey article titles. This account is made up of a list of article ideas that probably wouldn't make the cut to be published for Odyssey Online. My friends and I will scroll through the account for hours laughing at each and every one of the ideas and trying to decide which one is our absolute favorite. Here are a few of the best and funniest article ideas (in my opinion).

1. ForWhen you just don't want to see what the next four years of The United Sates as a whole will be like: The 15 Best Bridges to Jump Off of After Watching the Presidential Debate

2. For When you've come to terms with your basic-ness and embrace it fully:The Day I Murdered a Girl for Spilling My Pumpkin Spice Latte on My Uggs and Why That's Okay

3. ForWhen you've gained experience about what real struggle is like: What Driving to Chick Fil A on a Sunday and Realizing it Was Closed Taught Me About World Hunger

4. For When you just kinda wanna feel like a dad for a while: 15 Reasons Why New Balances are the Shoes of the Summer

5. For When drinking seems to be the only way to gain knowledge about other heritages: What Throwing Up Tequila on Cinco de Mayo Taught Me About the Mexican Culture

6. For When you realized you wouldn't be where you are today without the support (likes) you've received through out your journey:How Lifting Changed My Life, as Told by the Guy Who Can't Go to the Gym Without Posting a Mirror Selfie on Snapchat

7. For When you feel really connected to your ancestors:What Staying off of Social Media for 24 Hours Taught Me About Being a Pilgrim

There you have it, the best of the Odyssey Rejects. To my fellow writers: I expect to see a few of these written for next week!

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
