From the very first episode of "Parks and Recreation," I fell in love with the cynical and sarcastic character, April Ludgate, played by Aubrey Plaza. In her, I found a character who is like me. She isn't a fan of people, but for the few genuine friends that she has, she will go to great lengths for them. She's competitive, and even though it appears like she doesn't care, deep down, she really does. In her book, "Yes Please," Amy Poehler (who plays the lead role of Leslie Knope in "Parks and Recreation") said, "both the character of April and the person of Aubrey are secret softies. When I was going through my divorce and sad about coming back to Los Angeles, Aubrey dressed up as an alien and surprised me at the airport. She is a big-hearted warrior and a good loyal friend." It isn't a bad thing to be introverted and different, and that's why I'm glad there's a character like her for people like me to identify with. Below are some of my favorite April Ludgate moments.

Season 2, Episode 21 / Of the many meetings that took place on March 31st, my favorite was the 94th and last. Ron was clearly upset with April for this careless mistake, but after chastizing her multiple times, she schedules her own meeting with Ron, telling her that she is quitting. I like this moment because it proves that April will not let anyone disrespect her. With a little help from Andy, Ron goes to April's house to apologize and tell her that he needs her as his assistant. For me, this moment is special because it proves April's worth in the show, and that she is more than an apathetic young adult.

Season 2, Episode 20 / This scene was just another classic example of everyone making fun of Jerry. Jerry is always making mistakes and they never hesitate to jump on his back, but the truth is, they really cares for Jerry. Later in the series, Jerry becomes the mayor of Pawnee, and even when he dies, a huge funeral is thrown and everyone describes him pleasently. The relationship between Jerry and the rest of the office reminds me of ones with my closest friends: no matter how much we make fun of eachother, we are the only people allowed to mess with them.
