As one of the most legendary shows of all time, "How I Met Your Mother" was not only a comedy, but also a story of determination, love, change and friendship. When the series finale premiered, I sat on my couch crying my eyes out because it was all over. The five friends I had grown to love were settled down. Gone were the shenanigans, the plot twists and the familiar booth at MacLaren's. But all the lessons from Teddy Westside, Big Fudge, Lilypad, Robin Sparkles and Swarley will live on as I grow up and figure out life just as they did.

1. "I realized that I’m searching, searching for what I really want in life. And you know what? I have absolutely no idea what that is." - Ted

2. "We’re going to get older whether we like it or not, so the only question is whether we get on with our lives, or desperately cling to the past." - Ted

3. "You can’t cling to the past, because no matter how tightly you hold on, it’s already gone.” - Lily

4. "Nothing good happens after 2 a.m." - Ted

5. "Don't postpone joy." - Lily

6. "You may think your only choices are to swallow your anger or throw it in someone's face, but there's a third option: You can just let it go, and only when you do that is it really gone and you can move forward." - Ted

7. "That's how it goes, kids. The friends, neighbors, drinking buddies and partners in crime you love so much when you're young, as the years go by, you just lose touch. You will be shocked, kids, when you discover how easy it is in life to part ways with people forever. That's why, when you find someone you want to keep around, you do something about it." - Ted

8. "Perfect isn't always perfect." - Marshall

9. "Because sometimes, even if you know how something's going to end, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the ride."- Ted

10. "If you're not scared then you're not taking a chance. And if you're not taking a chance, then what the hell are you doing anyway?" - Ted

11. "When you meet the right person, you know it. You can’t stop thinking about them. They are your best friend and your soulmate. You can’t wait to spend the rest of your life with them. No one and nothing else can compare." - Ted

12. “But the main reason is you’re my best friend, Lily. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had.” - Marshall

13. "The future is scary, but you can't just run back to the past because it's familiar. Yes it's tempting, but it's a mistake." - Robin and Barney

14. "But love doesn't make sense! You can't logic your way into or out of it. Love is totally nonsensical. But we have to keep doing it or else we're lost and love is dead, and humanity should just pack it in. Because love is the best thing we do." - Ted

15. "Shouldn't we hold out for the person who doesn't just tolerate our little quirks, but actually kinda likes them?" - Ted

16. “Why not just say goodbye to the bad things? Say goodbye to all the times you felt lost. To all the times that was a no instead of a yes. To all the scrapes and bruises. To all the heartache. Say goodbye to everything you really want to do for the last time.” -Lily

17. "That's life you know, we never end up where we thought we'd be." - Marshall

18. "Look, you can't design your life like a building. It doesn't work that way. You just have to live it... and it'll design it for itself." - Lily

19. “Whatever you do in this life, it’s not legendary, unless your friends are there to see it.” - Barney

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
