The Best Jane Austen Adaption You Probably Haven't Heard About

Screen adaptations of our favorite books are often one of the worst nightmares for any book worm. Either our favorite plot lines are left out, like the S.P.E.W in Harry Potter, or characters are entirely changed, like Ginny Weasely again, in Harry Potter. In dire moments like these, what is a book worm to do but turn to fan fiction? There is no false illusion from the get go. We know to expect a new story only loosely based on our favorite story.

For all the Jane Austen fans out there who are tired of incomplete on screen adaptions of Austen novels, I have an on screen fan fiction suggestion for you: Lost in Austen.

In a nutshell, this show is "Pride and Prejudice" meets time travel. That's right, time travel. An Austen fanatic, Amanda, who lives in present day London swaps places with Elizabeth Bennet.

Here's the cast:

1. Jemima Rooper as Amanda Price (The fangirl)

2. Elliot Cowen as Mr. Darcy

3. Gemma Arterton as Elizabeth Bennet

4. Alex Kingston as Mrs. Bennet

Yes, River Song!

4. Hugh Bonneville as Mr. Bennet.

Here's what Amanda and Elizabeth look like in their swapped reality:

Amanda in Elizabeth's world

Elizabeth in Amanda's world

BONUS: Mr. Darcy in Amanda's world

This may be the best book to television adaptation ever. Do yourself a favor and get watching already!

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
