The Best Hot Dog

Many of us have tried making the best hot dog at one point in our lives. Many of us who live in the United States have not had the opportunity to taste one of the best hot dogs that there is to mankind. Of course many people will defend their own hot dog spot, but today, I am here to defend my favorite hot dog, which is sort of like the Dogo from Hermosillo.

And here are the ingredients…

Ready?

Ingredients needed: Chorizo, hot dog bun (preferably a thicker, fluffier one), any thick wiener (Polish ones are ok too), bacon, onions, tomato, cheese Ruffles or any chip of your preference, butter or olive oil, nacho cheese, black pepper, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, mozzarella cheese, and a jalapeño pepper (optional).

  1. First you want to get your wiener, slice it down the middle, stuff the opening with cheese, and then wrap your wiener with bacon. To minimize the mess, stab two to three toothpicks to stabilize the wiener so nothing falls apart.
  2. On the side, get your onion and grill them using either butter or olive oil. To do this, instead of cutting up your onion and then grilling it, leave them in a ring formation and then begin to grill them. You don’t want to chop them up.
  3. Also on the side, you want to start cooking your chorizo. Make sure you cook it alone, don’t add any spices, or any egg. Just cook it alone.
  4. While you’re waiting for this to cook, chop up your tomato, crush your chips (preferably cheese Ruffles), and set them aside.
  5. Begin to heat up some nacho cheese on a small pot while you wait for the wiener and the onions to cook.
  6. (Optional) Get your jalapeño pepper and begin to grill it. You are going to want to grill this until you see it slightly burned. You can use any pepper actually. I like to use this one called Chile Güero. I don’t know what it’s called in English, but once you Google it, you might know what I’m talking about.
  7. While you’re waiting, start preparing your bread. You will add some mayonnaise on the bread, and put it on the grill to toast it. You will end up with a nice and toasty bread (make sure to do it on both sides). I know many of you don’t like mayonnaise, but try this.
  8. After everything is warmed up and ready to go, it’s time to assemble everything together!!!
  9. Get your bread first, add the wiener, the chorizo, stuff in a very few crushed chips, a few grilled onions and tomatoes, then add your nacho cheese, some more tomatoes and grilled onion, take some of your crushed chips, and then add ketchup, mustard if you would like, and some black pepper on top.

I know this sounds like an enormous hot dog, but it is absolutely delicious. You also have the option of adding some guacamole. But that’s already pushing it too far…maybe… You can never go wrong with guacamole actually. Give it a try and let me know what you think! :)

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
