I know this article probably sounds like it will be like a million other articles, but it's not. Why? Because my best friend is better than yours. And my best friend is a guy. Literally, EVERYONE thinks that we are dating or like each other but I can assure you that, that is the farthest thing from the truth. This is not a situation where I feel like we are just best friends now who are eventually gonna end up together, and we do not have a marriage pact for if we are single when we are 40. We really are just best friends. And I would never want any one else as my best friend.
We have known each other for almost 13 years now. We have seen each other go through more awkward phases than I actually care to admit; like when I thought it was a good idea to be bleach blonde (it wasn't)... So when I found out he was moving to my hometown, we instantly starting hanging out and it was pretty awesome.
It started out as us just going out to bars and hanging out. I would be his "wing girl" when he saw a pretty girl and vice versa. Eventually, he was the person I went to when I was having any problems with guys. After that, he was there for all my problems. And again vice versa.
We literally are to the point now where we have entire conversations in GIFs, and they are pretty great. We know exactly when the other person is just not doing okay, and we are always there to send the right meme when someone needs to be cheered up.
I think we take more selfies than anyone I know. We also probably brunch more than your average person should. But we are always there to help each other out, even if it just involves getting the other person a drink and letting them vent their life. Oh and did I mention brunch...
I know what you're thinking, yeah you guys are probably gonna date. But I really don't see that in our future, and neither does he. Probably the most normal best friendship you could ever have. So much so that we are like brother and sister, which would make it SUPER weird to date. We are go-to wing-men and the best of friends.
To end this, THANK YOU to the best friend ever. You make the world suck a little less, and I will always be your wing woman.
