The final entry of this little series has made it, ladies and gents. Sadly, The Greatest Showman has been out of theaters for a few weeks, and our circus yearning hearts have been missing it's screen presence. Without further ado, the conclusion of The Best Greatest Showman Songs Based on Scene in an effort of completion:
7. Come Alive
The first group appearance of the members of the Barnum circus.
They're all starting to learn how to embrace what makes them different than others, and understand it's okay to not be like everyone else.
At one point, the bearded woman looks at a little girl in the crowd, who smiles at her and ensures that it's okay to step out from hiding who she is.
A truly beautiful message not only during that time but today's world. Acceptance is awesome.
8. Tightrope
Relationships don't take the easy route in this one.
Charity feels lonely and misses her husband who hasn't been the husband he should have.
The scene shows Charity dancing around through her gorgeous home with P.T. holding on to her throughout, then suddenly, he's gone - a tightrope illusion.
The ending shot from this frame shows a reflection of Charity looking through a window, fantasizing about P.T., which flashes to Jenny, who believes she will have a successful affair with him.
A tightrope is hard to balance, and this relationship is no exception.
9. The Greatest Show
Performed twice in the movie, but still iconic as ever each time.
Both scenes are thrilling and show the typical circus scene that most people think of when the thought comes to mind.
The first showing serves as an opening to what the movie is about to tell, and the last represents a conclusion of the film and ties everything together.
Charity and P.T. are back at it, and stronger than ever. He decides to give Phillip his former title of "ringleader", and focuses on what is truly important - family.
Phillip and Anne are finally, publicly together.
The circus is well attended, and the people have settled into the idea.
The circus has come full circle.
Overall, the symbolic meanings in this film are overflowing. Literally, P.T. Barnum's wife is named Charity to reflect her loving and taking in the "charity case" that he was - I see you Michael Gracey.
The values presented are timeless, and honestly the audience probably should have brought a notepad.
