WB's 'Gossip Girl'

Admit it: you love "Gossip Girl." Attractive people + New York City + incredible fashion = a cult favorite. Even if you didn't watch it while it was on the air, Netflix has allowed our favorite Upper East siders to be accessed within seconds (don't lie and say you didn't binge-watch).

For those of you who don’t know, this iconic drama about the Upper East Side social scene came to a dramatic end in 2012, much to the anguish of millions of fans. I’m an avid "Gossip Girl" lover, admittedly because of the fashion, but also because I just really love Blake Lively. In honor of one of my favorite shows, here’s a recap of Blair and Serena's best "Gossip Girl" outfits, ranging from season one all the way to season six. (In no particular order.)

1. Serena at Cotillion

The perfect dramatic dress for an equally dramatic moment. Serena donned a ravishing gray Zuhair Murad gown complimented by her seemingly endless (and perfect) legs.

2. Blair and Serena Go To Paris

One of my favorite episodes has to be when Blair and Serena go to Paris for the summer. Not only does Blair fall for a prince, they dine and shop at some of the most exquisite places. Blair is wearing a mixed print Moschino dress and a fab beret while Serena dons a Georges Chakra basket weave dress with a Rag & Bone blazer. Parisian fashion at it’s finest. For Americans at least.

3. Serena at Fashion's Night Out

Serena stunned in this black and white patterned Jenny Packham dress. I dare you to try and come up with someone else who could pull this look off so magically.

4. Blair in Paris

Blair had several very noteworthy princess moments, but this red strapless Oscar de la Renta gown is one of the best. Her contrasting fuschia shoes and clutch really elevate this look from just "princess glam" to "couture queen".

5. Serena's Winter Street Style

Between her extremely covetable Phillip Lim coat and leather thigh highs, Serena slayed the street style game.

6. Blair in the Hamptons

Blair was never one to shy away from colors, and this citrus inspired look certainly proves it. Her Peter Som top perfectly compliments her Stella McCartney skirt and her bright red lip pulls it all together. Hampton summer fashion executed exquisitely if you ask me.

7. Serena in All Black

Serena showed off her edgier side in this amazing Maxime Simoens top and pant combo. How fierce is this look?!

8. Chuck and Blair at the Opening of his Flapper Club

Everyone's favorite dysfunctional couple looked dapper as ever in their 1920's inspired garb.

9. Serena Searching For Chuck in Paris

Just because your step brother is M.I.A. in France doesn't mean you can't dress like a Vogue editorial. Serena's sparkling gold Emilio Pucci blazer met a pop of color with her cobalt Tibi trousers.

10. Serena at Lily's Wedding to Bart Bass

Despite the ill-advised black gloves, Serena's Ralph Lauren bridesmaid dress was swoon worthy. Again, I dare you to find someone else who could wear this look so effortlessly.

11. Blair's Capelet and Skirt Combo

Here's Blair casually proving to girls everywhere that they need a capelet in their life. This Gryphon sherlock Cape and Alice + Olivia skirt is sartorial perfection.

12. Serena's Wedding Dress

Leave it to Serena to go non-traditional on her wedding day. This gold lamé and organza Georges Chakra gown totally made my heart skip a beat. (In between tears of course).

13. Blair's Wedding Dress

Last, but obviously not least, is Blair's Elie Saab wedding dress. The only thing more perfect than this dress is the man she marries. ~Chuck and Blair 4 eva~

gossip girl

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

The Perks of Being a Girl

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

As frustrating and annoying as it can be, being a girl is really awesome. We are beautiful inside and out. Not a lot of people may see that, but girls have a ton of amazing qualities.

We have unique flirting skills.

Us girls have a significant way to flirt with other people. Even when we say the most random or awkward things, we have a way of making everything sound cute and planned. It’s just a gift; we’re good like that.

Us college students know all about the struggle of spending the day in the library. Whether you are writing a ten-page paper, studying for a biology exam, or struggling through math homework, you somehow find the strength to get to the library to get it all done. Let's just say you have a lot of different thoughts that run through your head during the many hours you spend in the lovely library.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
