With the holidays coming around the corner sooner than you think, it's time to start figuring out what you're giving your friends and family for the holidays. Some people are easy to shop for and others are really tough. Either way, you want to get the shopping done before the masses hit the mall. If you're not a fan of Black Friday, there's always Cyber Monday. Whoever says you need to hit the stores at 5:00 am to get a good deal is lying; just do your research and don't buy into the gimmicks.
For the beauty lover on your list:
Sephora has some cute gift sets that anyone who likes makeup is bound to like. A beauty box subscription (ie Birchbox, Ipsy, etc.) is also a fun idea for someone who likes to try new products. Not sure what she already has? Get a gift card for Sephora or Ulta and your beauty expert friend can use it for whatever she wants.
For your really picky Dad.
Forget the boring ties or socks. Try getting fancy chocolate or a gift card to a restaurant your dad like to go to.
For your mom, who shops for everyone else except herself.
Go halfsies with your brother or sister and get her something twice as nice. If she likes to get her nails done, get a generous gift card to the spa. Or a simple yet pretty crystal necklace is a pretty good bet.
For the Secret Santa you don't know that well.
Get something widely liked, like a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts gift card. Or, assuming the person is not allergic to chocolate, fancy chocolate is always a hit. Go to a local chocolate store and they'll wrap your gift beautifully.
For the music lover.
You can't go wrong with a Pandora One or Spotify mobile subscription. This is also good for nearly any college student who listens to music while they study.
At the end of the day, it's cheesy to say, but it really is the thought that counts. Your friends and family will notice if you get them something you clearly put some thought into. You don't have to spend a ton of money to buy something your friend or family member will like if you get them something that shows you pay attention to their interests. So put the sweater you're not sure will fit and the other predictable gifts back on the shelf.
