"That's when I realized what a true friend was. Someone who would always love you- the imperfect you, the confused you. The wrong you- because that is what people are supposed to do" (R.J.L). You came into my life when I least expected it, but looking back I now realize how much better you've made my life since the day I met you. I truly believe that you've made me a better person because you believe in me when I don't believe in myself. I appreciate you more than I could ever put into words, but this is my attempt at expressing how much you've impacted my heart.

Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on. I think I've cried to you more than I care to admit. You've become my rock over the short time that I've known you. We joke about you being the reason I'm sane but I actually really believe that. I promise to try and lift you up as much as I can on your bad days and I want you to know that I would do anything to see you smile.

Thank you for being so constant. From the day I met you, you have never made me question our friendship. We find ourselves having really deep conversations about life almost every night. Yes, this is the reason I don't sleep very much but I wouldn't change a thing because these little moments mean so much to me. We've been through so much together and that's only made our bond stronger.

Thank you for always being down for an adventure. We've made so many memories together already. We always lose track of time when we're together. You're always down for whatever and I love that about you. Thanks for being my adventure buddy.

Thank you for always knowing how to make my day. From puppy videos to inspirational quotes when I'm having a rough day, you really get me and know how to make me feel better. You give the best hugs and your positive personality brightens every room you walk into.

Thank you for understanding my heart. "You're a work of art, not everyone will understand you, but the ones who do will never forget about you" (The Better Man Project). I feel like I've known you my entire life because you know everything about me. I can't imagine my life without you and I don't plan on finding out.

Thank you for making me the best version of myself. Around you, I feel like I can truly be myself. There is nothing artificial about our friendship and that's honestly really difficult to come by. You push me to be my best and always keep my head on straight. Thanks for being my biggest fan and for supporting me in everything I do.

I could honestly go on forever, but I've probably already embarrassed you more than you would like. Thank you for walking into my life when I needed you most. I thank God every day for giving me a best friend like you. You've changed my life for the better and I love you so much.

Love,

Me

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
